It was a scrumptious Saturday 30th July, 2022 for 70 Ndola-based street children who indulged in a programme called Share A Meal. The charitable treat was organised by Youth Care Impact (YCI) in collaboration with Cicetekelo Youth Project, who offered the venue for the event.

Share A Meal is a Feeding Programme coordinated by YCI and this particular event was held in order to raise public awareness on the rights and protection of children living on the streets. Ndola District Child Protection Committee (NDCPC) Chair, Pastor Charles Mwambo, graced the event and thanked YCI for running such a programme. Mr. Mwambo also stated that such efforts supplement those of the Government of creating a better environment for young people living on the streets.

Kingsley Chipulu, the YCI Executive Director, took the opportunity to implore other youth-led organisations throughout the country to emulate his organisation by conducting initiatives which address the affairs of children living on the streets. Mr. Chipulu further called for concerted efforts among stakeholders to help alleviate other challenges faced by this vulnerable sector of society such as drug and substance abuse, prostitution, human trafficking etc.
